A friend of Topology and *culture is not optional sent over a link to an essay by Christopher Harding for Aeon Magazine called “Silent Communion,” which dives into the relationship between Christianity and meditation. Responding to assumptions that meditation belongs to Buddhist or New Age circles, Harding explores the history of meditation in Christian circles and how it relates to contemporary conversations around the nature of faith coming out of our “obsessively verbal modernity.”
