Artful dispatches from the places where we find ourselves
Heidi Fettig Parton
Heidi Fettig Parton lives in Stillwater, Minnesota, a town situated along the St. Croix River, a river that divides Minnesota and Wisconsin. Thanks to legislative protections implemented in the 1960s, the St. Croix remains clean enough to swim, but it faces many modern day environmental stressors. Heidi serves as a citizen steward of this watershed. She often writes about water-related issues and holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from Bay Path University. She’s written for Assay Journal, Angels Flight, literary west (AFLW), Agate Magazine, Grown and Flown, St. Croix 360, The Manifest-Station and others.
